Skin Conditions

Hi friends it has been awhile since I last did a blog post. So lets start this out with a BANG about Skin Conditions.

SKIN CONDITIONS: External factors impacting the skin. Which you could possibly have several at a time. Some common ones include acne, eczema, skin cancer, psoriasis, cold sores, rosacea, hives, vitiligo, warts, etc.

Some of these conditions can be temporary or permeant, and may be painless or painful. Some could be situational while others could be genetic. Some are minor and others are more life-threating.

Rosacea is a more permanent skin condition. It is characterized by small, red, sometimes pus-filled bumps on the face.

Psoriasis is also more permanent which causes scaly, itchy, and dry patches on skin.

Vitiligo also permanent which results in patches of skin losing their pigmentation.

Acne:

  • Papules: Small red, raised bumps
  • Pustules: Small, red pimples that have pus at the tip
  • Nodules: Solid, painful lumps under surface of skin
  • Cysts: Painful, pus-filled infections found under surface of skin

Eczema:

  • Yellow/white scaly patches that flake off
  • Affected area may be red, itchy, greasy, or oily

Hives:

  • Itchy, raised welts
  • Red and painful to touch

Some Causes Could Be:

  • Bacteria trapped in skin pores and hair follicles
  • Fungus/Parasites
  • Viruses
  • Weakened immune system
  • Genetic Factors
  • Stress may also cause some of these

Depending on the skin concern you are facing it may be treatable. Treatments could include:

  • Medicated Creams/Ointments
  • Vitamins
  • Laser Therapy
  • Prescription Medications
  • Skin Care Products
  • Lifestyle Changes

There is way more out in this world then listed above. These are a few I have helped people with and that are more common then others. Certain skin concerns may not be preventable. However it’s possible to prevent some of them. Wether you see a Doctor for more serious issues or an Esthetician for something less life threatening, I am here to help with what I can.
