Preventing Pimple Problems

Lets talk acne.. Those of you who have struggled with acne know this can be a very touchy subject. Lets be real it’s embarrassing and hard to get control of. Trust me I have been through it all with medications, creams, dermatologist visits, etc. So many things can contribute to the cause of acne.

For Example:

  • Comedogenic Ingredients
  • Sweat
  • Pressure, Friction, Constriction (hats, helmets, workout gear, etc)
  • Hormones in food we eat
  • Medications
  • Recreational Drugs
  • Climate (heat, humidity, dry weather, etc)
  • Industrial Chemicals/Oils (People who work in environments with deep fryers, cookers, chemicals in the air, etc.)
  • Stress
  • Hormones

That is a few and may seem like a lot, But in general coming from our diets, stress, allergies, lifestyle, etc. can be causes for the wonderful red pimples we all just love to see on the face. (JK)

A few things I have learned about my own skin that may be helpful to you would be..

  • Changing my pillow case once a week (lets be real not all of us wash our hair everyday or our face so that means lots of bacteria can build up where we sleep wether that is blankets, pillows, sheets, etc. Change them out it helps!)
  • I avoid perfume/fragrance in all my skin care and even some of my make up. It really takes a toll on my skin and I believe 100% it makes me breakout.
  • Drink lots of water (We have all heard this one)
  • NEVER GO TO SLEEP WITHOUT WASHING YOUR FACE (Did you know sleeping with make up will age you a lot quicker?)
  • Stay consistent with a skin routine and know that whenever you change your skin regimen it takes a few weeks for you skin to adjust.
  • And a regular facial now and then from an expert wouldn’t hurt! (Come see me if you are in the area)

Keep in mind these are tips that I personally have seen a difference.. We are not all the same. So if these things don’t work for you it may be something else that needs to change!
